We currently run a group program for kids on Saturdays, after school and during school holidays. The program usually follows a similar routine, helping kids transition and get the most out of their day.
A usual day:
9:00 am
Arrive at Active Ability Care centre, put bag away and settle with favourite centre activities (trampoline, craft, sand pit etc)
10:00 am
Eat morning tea before we go out for the day
10:30 am
Leave for our activity, the activity could be the park, a bbq, live music for kids, jumping castles, pool, aquatic centre, quad bike riding and more
12:00 pm
Eat lunch while we are out (lunch usually provided by parents in lunch box)
1:30 pm
Return to centre
2:00 pm
The last hour depends on everyone's energy levels, if our clients still have energy we can ride our bikes in the park next door, play with a ball or create a game. Otherwise we can spend the time relaxing on the grass or participating in some sensory activities
3:00 pm
Pickup
We are really proud of our group program and the social and emotional development it offers our clients, some times socialising or playing with others doesn’t come naturally and with the support of our group program we can work on our social goals and learn that sometimes there is a huge advantage in sharing life with some friends.
