But we also believe mother nature is an amazing opportunity. FOCUSED
We are focused on providing appropriate services. We believe children and adults have completely different needs. Understanding this enables us to be more targeted with our resources and activities. Instead of an activity that works for a 6 year old and a 30 year old, we design different programs for each person.
ACTIVE
‘Active Access’ was nearly the name we chose for our organisation because we believe in everyone having the access to give things a go. Although everyone has different abilities and can access the outdoors in various ways we make it our priority to be outside as much as possible. For some clients this looks like long bush walks, swimming in the ocean or riding a bike around the park. For others it’s building sand castles in the sand pit, for some it’s a 5 minute walk under some trees. Everyone’s abilities and tolerances are different, we appreciate that and aim to keep active when possible.
EDUCATION
We all spent a huge portion of our lives at school, with educators that are trained to get the most out of us. At Active Ability Care we have asked those same educators to be our support workers. This enables us to have a highly skilled workforce when supporting adults and children. For children it gives us added synergy between school and respite allowing us to complement each other's goals and progress rather than operating as completely different entities.
